Broadcasting locally from our Erina studios, with no networking from other locations. With "no more than 4 ads in a row" we have created a radio station for Central Coast listeners and advertisers. Is it true you re from the Nova family?
Yes we are!  Star 104.5 is a part of DMG Radio Australia group. DMG operates both metropolitan stations such as Nova (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane) and Vega (Sydney and Melbourne) and 5AA in Adelaide.

DMG stands for Daily Mail Group, a British owned media company. The company successfully bid $13.5 million for the Central Coast frequency, and has invested a further $7 million in constructing the transmitter at Somersby, and our Erina studio and office complex.

So who will be listening to DMG s new station?
Well we hope everyone! 

We are broadcasting to a market of at least 285,508 people!  Our listeners on the Central Coast are spread across this waterfront playground we call home covering 1,685.1 sq km!!!

Due to the high number of residents commuting to Sydney each day for work, our frequency is strong enough to be heard in Sydney….and we think that Rocks! 

Who are the announcers?
Our announcers live on the Central Coast and broadcast from the coast.

Our Program Director has racked up his frequent flyer points and over spent on the fuel card, scouring Australia for the hottest up and coming talent and boy hasnt that paid off!!!

What does Star 104.5 look like?
We are already famous for being red!!!

You wil see all of our groovy taxis, bus shelters and other signs around town, but one thing is for sure you wont miss our street team cruising the coast!!  They are constantly turning heads. 

How is Star 104.5 music played?
All our music is played from a server based delivery system and stored on RAID 5 disk drives. 99% of our audio path is in the digital domain, only the microphones and loudspeakers are analog! CD Players are used as backup only.

Our Digital Studios and processing equipment ensure that what you hear is the best sound on the Coast!!!

But how does the music get to my ears?
Star 104.5 FM broadcast from our state-of-the-art Studios at Erina via our 100m tower at Somersby. Our 10Kw transmitter reaches as far North as Nelson Bay and as far South as Wollongong (on a good day!)

We broadcast 24hrs each day, every day of the year. Our engineers ensure that the Star 104.5 sound is available to you non stop!
