FRIDAY - 8.00pm - Big Wheel Stage

Victorian five piece Epicure have been quiet of late, locked away in the studio brewing a new sound for their third LP, Postcards From A Ghost, due in store 2008. Cobra Kisses is the first single to be taken off this forthcoming album, a quirky rocking track featuring the unmistakable luscious vocals of lead singer Juan Alban, and introducing new band member, guitarist Michael Hubbard (Jen Cloher and the Endless Sea).

2007 saw Epicure supporting  Evermore, Powderfinger and Silverchair on their Across The Great Divide Tour  and  mammoth run of national dates mixing headline shows with supports for Blues n Roots darling Mia Dyson on her Struck Down album tour.

Epicure are:

Juan Alban - vocals, guitar
Tim Bignell - bass
Heath McCurdy - keys
Michael Hubbard - guitar
Dom Santamaria - drums

"Juan Alban's distinguishing vocal sends shivers down your spine the way he extends his voice is masterful." Mixdown

"Lead vocalist Juan Alban's unusually high register soul voice, which seems to me kinda like a cross between Ben Harper and Mick Hucknall, has a compelling honesty about it." Beat

"Epicure are constantly slipping under the radar, yet constantly bringing out brilliant albums. Reminiscent to Augie March's last release, using understatement to great effect ...with a simple yet powerful piano line underpinning the fragile vocal." Drum Media
